Air Panama bookings: changes, cancellations and refunds with Touriyo

FAQ: to change a booking contact the reservations centre (+507 316-9000) or reservaciones@airpanama.com; changes are subject to availability and fare conditions, 'could generate additional penalties and/or charges', and if the same fare is not available you pay the difference. Fares page: BASIC - 'Changes: No' (the fine print says you must request another fare, paying a penalty plus the fare difference); PLUS - first change free (fare difference plus taxes if the new fare is higher); PREMIER - up to 3 free changes. On a ticket mixing fare types the most restrictive fare's rules apply. Contract of carriage art. 9: any change or cancellation must be requested at least 6 business hours before departure, with the stipulated penalties and fare difference paid before using the ticket; art. 10: failing arts. 8-9 allows a penalty of up to 50% of the ticket value. The BASIC penalty amount is not published.

Refundable tickets: BASIC: not refundable. PLUS: credit note with penalty (amount not published). PREMIER: refundable minus OBFEE (amount not published). Contract art. 3: fare classes A, D, S, E, W promotional and non-refundable; H and B refundable by credit note (180 days); Y refundable subject to administrative charge.

Credits and vouchers: Credit note ('nota de crédito') valid 180 days / 6 months for H and B classes (contract art. 3); PLUS fare refunds are issued as a credit note.

The airline operates Panama domestic routes only.

Carry-on: One carry-on up to 6 kg, max 17 x 13.5 x 6.5 inches (handbag, small backpack, briefcase, laptop case, canes/crutches). Carry-on bags with wheels are not permitted in the cabin and must be checked.

Checked bags: By fare: PREMIER 2 bags of 18 kg (39.6 lb) each; PLUS 1 bag of 18 kg; 'Classic' 1 bag of 18 kg; BASIC none included. Max 18 kg and 158 linear cm (62 in) per bag. FAQ wording: 18 kg checked + 6 kg hand bag, except fare 'E' Econo Basic (hand bag only).

Fees: One additional bag (18 kg) USD 35.00 plus ITBMS, maximum 1 additional; BASIC: first additional bag USD 25.00 plus ITBMS, second USD 35.00 plus ITBMS. Excess weight USD 5.00 per extra kg up to 25 kg per bag; beyond that send as cargo. Sports equipment: small USD 25.00 plus ITBMS per unit, large USD 50.00 plus ITBMS; surfboards USD 25.00 first / USD 15.00 each further board (max 7 ft, 10 kg, 2 boards); large cameras USD 50.00, small USD 25.00. Firearms domestic only (second weapon USD 25.00). Excess baggage flies subject to space.

FAQ 'Can I transfer my ticket, or change the name?': 'No, tickets are not transferable'; if you cannot use the ticket contact Customer Service (+507 316-9070 / servicio.al.cliente@airpanama.com) for assistance. Contract art. 1: every ticket is issued in the name of a given person and may not be transferred; identity may be verified at any time. No spelling-correction procedure or fee published.

Contract art. 8: every passenger must reconfirm the reservation 72 hours before departure and show up at the airport 1 hour before departure on domestic flights (3 hours international); failing this the carrier may cancel the reservation and dispose of the seat. Art. 10: failure to comply with arts. 8-9 gives the carrier the right to charge a penalty of up to 50% of the ticket value. FAQ: with web check-in done you may arrive one hour before departure.

No dated changes. The fares page (BASIC / PLUS / PREMIER) is newer than the contract of carriage and baggage page, which still use older class names (E Econo Basic, Classic) and a mixed English/Spanish text.

Senior discounts in Panama must be bought at sales offices or through the reservations centre.
