Emirates bookings: changes, cancellations and refunds with Touriyo

Changes are made online in Manage Your Booking (dates, departure time, connecting flight, cabin class, add/remove flights or a stopover); 'You might be charged for certain changes, depending on the fare conditions of your ticket' - penalties, additional taxes and any fare difference are shown and paid online before confirming. Online changes apply to all passengers on the booking; for one passenger only, contact Emirates or the travel agent who made the booking. Partially used tickets can be changed online if the fare allows. Classic Rewards and Business Rewards bookings can be changed online. 'If you booked through a travel agent, you need to contact them to make changes.' If a change leaves a refundable amount (e.g. unused taxes) Emirates issues a credit note (EMD) valid one year, usable for future travel or refundable via the refund form. Hold My Fare: Economy fares can be held free for 24 hours up to 24 days before departure.

Cancel in Manage Your Booking and complete the online refund form; 'you can receive a full refund as long as it's within the conditions of your fare' - some tickets are non-refundable or carry cancellation charges, and partially used tickets may refund only a small amount. Refunds go to the card used to buy the ticket. Card refunds 'are processed by Emirates within 15 working days'; bookings originating from India within 30 days. US rule: 'For itineraries booked www.emirates.com/us; that originate from the US, where the booking is made seven days or more prior to flight departure, you may request a refund within 24 hours of booking without penalty', processed within seven days of submitting the refund form. Refundable tickets: Per fare conditions (Special fares are the most restricted; Flex Plus the most flexible). Refund only to the original card for online purchases.

Credits and vouchers: Credit note (EMD) issued after online changes with a refundable balance: valid one year from issue, usable for Emirates travel via a local office or refundable through the refund form.

Itineraries booked on emirates.com/us that originate from the US, booked seven days or more before departure: refund without penalty if requested within 24 hours of booking (hotel and car reservations excluded).

Carry-on: Economy 7 kg, max 55 x 38 x 22 cm; Premium Economy 10 kg; Business and First 7 kg carry-on plus a 7 kg briefcase (45 x 35 x 20 cm) or garment bag. Boarding in India: one piece max 115 cm (Economy and Premium Economy). From Brazil: 10 kg.

Checked bags: Weight concept (most routes): Economy Special 20 kg, Saver 25 kg (30 kg ex Australia/NZ and Europe-Australia/NZ), Flex 30 kg, Flex Plus 35 kg; Premium Economy 35 kg; Business 40 kg; First 50 kg; max 32 kg per bag, 203 cm. Piece concept (to/from the Americas and Africa): Economy Special 1 x 23 kg, Saver/Flex/Flex Plus 2 x 23 kg (within the Americas and US-Europe: Special and Saver 1 x 23 kg, Flex/Flex Plus 2 x 23 kg); Premium Economy 2 x 23 kg; Business and First 2 x 32 kg; 150 cm per bag (150-203 cm oversize fee). Misspelled names can be corrected before the first flight; a legal name change can be applied at any time; 'Emirates does not allow transfer of the ticket to someone else'. Fee: 'If you booked directly with us and your journey only includes flights operated by Emirates, then there is no fee'; with partner-operated flights the operating carrier's policy and fee may apply; agency bookings: ask the agent about their fees.
