How it works with Touriyo

  1. Call with your booking reference and the name on the ticket.
  2. The agent reads the fare rules and tells you what Virgin Atlantic returns: money, a credit or nothing, and by when.
  3. If Touriyo issued the ticket, the agent cancels it once you agree and sends you the confirmation. If you bought it from Virgin Atlantic or another agency, the agent explains the rules and tells you which channel can cancel it.
  4. Touriyo's fee, if any, is charged only when the cancellation is done, and it is never taken out of money the airline owes you.

The total, including the airline's charges and Touriyo's fee, is quoted before any card is taken. Refunds owed by the airline are never reduced by our fee.

What Virgin Atlantic publishes about this

  • Refundability depends on the fare rules: refundable tickets are refunded in full if unused, or the unused portion if partly used, with no administration fee (10.1); some refundable tickets carry a cancellation fee notified at booking; non-refundable tickets get back taxes, government/airport fees and Government Scheme Costs (10.2), and the unused portion is refunded in full when EU261, US 14 CFR Part 260 or the conditions give a right to it, or if the passenger dies.
  • Direct bookings: request a refund (or a refund quote) through the online form; refunds are paid within 14 working days (help centre) / within seven business days for card purchases and 20 for cash (customer service plan), to the original form of payment, possibly taking up to 10 weeks to show on the card.
  • Agency or other-airline bookings: refunds through them.
  • Website bookings can be cancelled without penalty within 24 hours if made a week or more before departure (call the Customer Centre, then apply for the refund).
  • Right after booking: Customer service plan item 4: bookings made directly (Customer Service Centre or virginatlantic.com) may be held by phone at the quoted fare without payment for 24 hours, or a website booking cancelled within 24 hours without penalty, as long as the reservation is made one week or more before departure; website bookings must be cancelled by calling the Customer Service Centre and then applying for the refund within the 24-hour window.

What Touriyo can do

  • Change, cancel, request refunds and add bags on tickets Touriyo issued.
  • On any other Virgin Atlantic ticket: explain Virgin Atlantic's published rules, tell you which channel can help and book a new ticket if that works out better.

What Touriyo cannot do

  • Change, cancel or refund a ticket that Virgin Atlantic or another agency issued: only the issuer can.
  • Decide or speed up a refund: Virgin Atlantic decides and pays it.

What Virgin Atlantic publishes about tickets bought through an agency

'If you booked through another airline or with a travel agent, you will need to contact them to check the cancellation and refund rules of your booking.'
