• The port is often not in the city. The lines write it that way: Rome (Civitavecchia), Athens (Piraeus). Plan the transfer before you book the flights.
• Lines that sell Venice sailings start them in Trieste or Ravenna and say so in the port name, for example Venice (Trieste).
