What a Spanish passport needs for the United Kingdom
Spanish citizens need no visa for visits of up to six months, but you do need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before you travel: since 25 February 2026 airlines refuse boarding without one. It lasts two years, or until your passport expires. Bring your passport: the Spanish ID card is accepted only in a few cases, such as for holders of EU Settlement Scheme status.
